Too bad. In cyberspace SPEED is king. If you don't capture, and hold, a visitor's attention in the first fifteen seconds, you stand a better than ninety percent chance of losing them altogether. It's become such a problem that the industry has coined the phrase, "ZAP FACTOR" to describe the ratio of people who hit a site vs. the number who actually wait for just the first page to completely load.
Let's emphasize that point. A disheartening number of surfers find out how slow a business' web page loads and they bail out to go somewhere else! No sale. No word-of-mouth. No interest in your really "cool", but meaningless, graphics. They go looking for somebody else who can more effectively show them what they want.
But, all is not lost. Even a slow web page will still get some seriously interested visitors. If they've hung on this long just to see what you have to offer, you stand a good chance of meeting their needs. IF you can clearly and quickly communicate with them.
